Lisha Li (Jing Xuan)

Lisha Li received her M.Phil and D.Phil (A.B.D.) from Oxford University, where she was named the Moberly Graduate Scholar. She specializes in cross-cultural music, ethnomusicology, and composition. Before joining the faculty of Fei Tian College in 2012, she taught graduate-level Chinese music theory at London University. She contributed to three music research books on Chinese music published in China, and she has published over 30 academic papers in leading journals in China and also in worldwide publishing houses, including ‘Year book of Ethnomusicology’ (U.S.A.).

She is a prize winner of several composition competitions in China and has composed over 500 pieces for CD/DVD published in the United Kingdom and the United States including CD/DVDs of the London Chinese Orchestra (UK), Shen Yun Performing Arts, and the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra. She has composed for several films and dance dramas in the United Kingdom and the United States, including the 9-category Oscar winning film “The Last Emperor.”
